Being 30

Oh what a pleasure it is to be,
The age of 30 beginning with a number 3.
After all good things come in 3s,
Or even 4 as in our family.

To celebrate with a party can be fun,
So long as you don't leave any one out among the young.
Friendly faces all around,
Reminding one of what is dear to one's heart.
Good food and fine wine,
And how about the company, all good cheer.

Music is always dearest to my heart,
Moves me in ways that words can not express.
These are the best things I can enjoy,
A whole new decade to enjoy!

Laughter

Rolling in the isles, or chortling at the screen,
Laughter creates happiness, as best as it would seem.
We all love the Hollywood greates,
Such as Charlie Chaplin or Laurel and Hardy.
They worked their magic in silent form,
Like Buster Keaton stunts to perform.

In the modern era comedy is constantly changing,
Becoming more and more surreal.
But what I like the best is the old slapstick,
Like John Cleese in Fawlty Towers,
Or Blazing Saddles with Mel Brookes,

The comedy spoof always makes me laugh.

What A Day

What a day,
What a day.
No Counselling,
Freezing cold,
Snow everywhere!

Mobile Phone not working,
Insides “shot-to-pieces”.
Bumped into Rachel,
But don’t want to go out with her.

Smoking cigarettes,
Just to keep Psychosis at bay,
What a day,
What a day!

Oh What A Jest

Later on walking down Burleigh Street,
Tom of the Home Treatment Team walked by.
We chatted politely,
And I told him I needed to rest.
He wished he could do likewise,
And then wished me the best.

This did tickle me so,
If only he knew:
To me that was quite some jest!

For to me you see,
Life has been far from pleasent,
I don’t mean to go on...
So I’ve been writing this poem for too long!

Healing on the Loo

Here I am sitting on the loo,
Letting my body relax until I do a poo.
Reading my faveourite book,
Lord of the Rings is best.
Feeling my body relaxing,
Healing in its own way,
Brain relaxes as I stimulate my mind,
Followed by my insides.

If I need to get up it does not matter,
I drink some water or sip my coffee,
Then I sit back down and continue where I left off,
If I don't have a result in time,
More yoga and maybe reflexology is required.
Not forgetting pinching the skin,
A good massage and a bowl of prunes should always get you moving!
